And this may be the only page I write not in the third person. In simplicity, I love shooting film. The results it develops that filters and programs still can only try to emulate. The lack of post production unless you want to get dirty in the darkroom for a print, an image is burned permanently into the film I sifted through one of too many of my cameras.
After 2019 I found myself having taken enough film photos to want to curate my own creation in physical form, another photo medium of old often overlooked: a photo book.
‘Film in Review 2019,’ was created, a full review of my favorite images from 2019 and a few years beyond, that deserved living beyond Instagram.
After our first pandemic year, ‘2020 Film in Review,’ followed as well, being my heaviest film year yet at 3600+ images shot.
Personal/passion projects are the life blood of creators. This was that for me. No boss, no sponsor, no money made (after development costs), but all the value in the world to make something people can hold, view, and be out-lived by.
